ABOUT LOADX

Built by people who've shipped sails. Not just software.

LoadX comes from a simple observation: the judgment behind a sail never disappeared. The way we record that judgment did.

Every sail starts in a conversation, takes shape through measurement, lands in a factory, and gets tested on the water. Too little of that information carries cleanly into the next sail.

LoadX exists to make that judgment stay usable.

Where LoadX comes from

LoadX didn't start as a software company that picked sailmaking as a market. It started the other way around.

After years building software, I spent the next several inside the sailmaking world - quoting, measuring, talking to lofts, watching jobs move from inquiry to factory to water. The thing that kept bothering me wasn't that the work was hard. It's that the same information kept getting re-explained, re-typed, and re-lost. The judgment was there. The system around the judgment wasn't.

LoadX is what I wish I'd had then. Not a tool that replaces the loft, and not AI that pretends to be a sailmaker. Just a way to stop losing the work between the conversation and the next sail.

Three things we got tired of pretending weren't true.

Sailmaking is not a SKU.

Same boat, same use case, different customer - the spec still changes. Any tool that compresses sailmaking into a dropdown menu breaks somewhere downstream. LoadX is built around that fact, not against it.

The judgment is the product.

Customers aren't paying for cloth. They're paying for someone who thought through why this cloth, this cut, this reinforcement. That part can't be outsourced to AI, and it shouldn't get lost in emails and chat threads.

Small lofts deserve big-loft infrastructure.

Large brands have full design, production, QC, and after-sales systems. Small lofts have customers, craft, and local trust - but rarely the back office. That gap shouldn't be decided by headcount.

Behind every job, the same record.

01

Proposal that opens like a finished document, not a draft.

10-page branded PDF with boat-specific geometry, AI recommendations, and your margin visible only to you.

02

Design review that catches what the form didn't ask.

Measurement gaps, configuration conflicts, material-vs-use mismatches - flagged before the factory sees them.

03

Build spec the factory can execute without callbacks.

Materials, reinforcements, hardware, QC checkpoints - structured so the factory doesn't have to guess.

04

One record from inquiry to delivery.

The proposal, the design decisions, the production files, and the QC notes all live on the same job. Nothing has to be re-explained between stages.

Your loft stays in front - the customer relationship and the brand are yours. LoadX stays behind, keeping the job from starting over every time.

What LoadX is, and what it isn't.

LoadX is

A back-office layer that lets small lofts deliver like large ones
A system that turns judgment and job history into something reusable
A partner you can use job-by-job, with no exclusivity required

LoadX isn't

A direct-to-owner sail brand competing with our partners
An AI that replaces your professional judgment
A platform that asks for long-term lock-in to access the basics

If this sounds like the loft you're trying to run, let's talk.
